The best study websites for GCSE'S and A LEVELS to get an A*/9
If you’re sitting for your IGCSE’s, GCSE’s or A levels this year, good luck to you and I hope you get the grades you deserve. Also, my blog is undoubtedly the BEST thing for you during this period to help you prepare for the coming exams.
I’ve gone through the whole process of GCSE’s, and let me tell you these websites have SAVED me.
I’ve used each and every one of these astonishingly helpful websites, and you should also know that I would NEVER recommend anything to you guys that I don’t truly like or find useful, that’s why I’m really excited to share with you my favorite and most helpful GCSE and A level websites.
1. 1.SAVE MY EXAMS
You’ve most likely already heard of this one perhaps from school or YouTube, but it’s my number one favorite and most used website.
I am a science student and I think that’s the main reason why this website has been very useful to me. It also has English language and math content.
Don’t worry if you aren’t a science student, because there are a lot more websites listed below that provide revision assets for other subjects.
Save my exams offer many resources that you could use to study. They have past papers that are free to download for both (I)GCSE and A level students, but the past papers are limited to only math, English language and the sciences.
One of its best qualities is the topic tests and topic notes that they offer. Its self explanatory but to summarize, they have notes available for free download on their website for each subject as well as topic tests to do.
The best thing about these notes is the fact that they are fairly detailed. The topic tests on the other hand are quite easy but helpful due to the fact that they help make sure that you at least have some knowledge over a topic.
These tests provide questions from a specific topic of your choice, perhaps a topic that you struggle in, and really help you get better in that topic by testing your level of understanding.
The reason why I always found these so helpful is because if I was struggling in a topic let’s use algebraic fractions as an example, then I would go onto save my exams, print out some algebraic fraction topic tests and notes and do them till I’m confident with the topic.
Save my exams provide revision resources for Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE, AQA GCSE, OCR GCSE and CCEA GCSE as well as CIE IGCSE core and extended. For A levels they offer Edexcel and Edexcel international, OCR and CIE.

2. STUDYROCKET
Study rocket is such a unique website to come across because its one of the very few websites that offer revision resources on A level and GCSE social sciences such as history, geography, politics, business, economics etc.
I don’t know how many websites you could come across that offer this much flexibility in terms of subjects.
Unfortunately, it’s not as flexible in terms of exam boards as it only consists of content from Edexcel, AQA and a few from OCR.
For students, Study Rocket is substantially helpful especially for English language and literature. Throughout my whole school year, study rocket has been THE most accommodating website for English.
It breaks down different texts and poems for you, and guides you through understanding them. They describe how to properly analyze different texts and they lay out many English techniques that you could apply in the exams to get perplexing grades.
Let’s also not forget about how freakishly cute the website is! Its whole structure and interactive qualities is designed in literally the cutest way possible, this definitely gives it a boost.

3. 3. STUDENT ROOM UK
The student room UK is hands down one of the best websites for students. Okay, I say that for all the websites in this list, but they are all pretty astounding.
I’m also fairly certain you’ve heard about this website.
The thing about student room UK that makes it different from the other websites in this list is that, it’s not necessarily focused on providing revision resources, but they are widely available.
The student room UK, according to Wikipedia, is a United Kingdom based community and social learning website for school and university students.
If it’s a revision website you are looking for, or any other information you require, it’s as simple as creating an account and asking the millions of users. You will be surprised by the response that you will receive, or you can just go through the already asked questions and find websites for yourself.
As I said , student room UK is not primarily focused on revision guides and resources and this is actually a special quality.
They assist students in applying for universities, they help with student finance, they provide different free study tools, they have a student chat room where you could discuss many topics with different students in the world etc.
Student room UK is a really great website, and if you haven’t already, make sure to check out their website for more information by clicking here.
4. MATHS GENIE
This website was always my favorite when it comes to revising math. Math is one of the most difficult subjects to grasp for many students, and I’m sure most of you can agree.
Math’s genie will reduce the number of mental breakdowns due to stress, with the resources they offer!
This is due to the fact that they teach math visually. They have videos on all math topics, so if you’re struggling at BIDMAS, for example, then you need only to watch the video that instructs you step by step.
Another cool thing about this website, when you’re done watching the video on bidmas then you can go ahead and try out the exam questions! The exam questions aren’t available for all topics but the exam question booklets are and they have solutions available as well.
These videos and revision resources are available for both GCSE and A level students.
They have past papers available, but unfortunately they offer only Edexcel and OCR past papers for GCSE and only Edexcel for A levels.

5. BBC Bitesize
This has to be one of the best GCSE revision websites out there. First off, it’s the only website I’ve come across that offers revision resources on ALL exam boards. Well not particularly all because I don’t know how many exam boards are out there but a great number of GCSE exam board content is available on their website.
Unfortunately, BBC bitesize doesn’t currently have learning resources for A level or international students, but I had to include it in this post because of how much it offers for GCSE students.
Another really great quality about this website is that they are very flexible when it comes to the variety of subjects they offer help in.
Its actually pretty rare to find a website that offers this many subject, most revision websites only produce content for 1-10 subjects but BBC bitesize offers up to 36 subjects!
I’m pretty sure that makes up for not having any A level content. They also teach how to write proper CV’s to apply for a job as well
